Love the woods on this guitar. Creates deep and resonant sound

I like the Sitka spruce top's sonic response and its full volume. Then there's the Mahogany wood's rustic tone. This instrument is SO well made, perfect aesthetics without being ostentatious. Comfortable up and down the neck as well. My only knock is that the Soft shell case is too flimsy. I own a Taylor acoustic and their soft shell case is far more structured and protective. Fortunately read more I was able to find a Taylor case at my local music shop that fits the Martin. Thanks Camden. Appreciate your work on this.

The sound this instrument produces puts a large smile on my face. It has an amazing balance between the low and high, and since it's Martin all that goodness fills the room with it's distinct tone. The neck feels similar to a C shape, not chunky, I can easily wrap my thumb around to grab bass notes. The cutaway is deep enough to play to the end off the fret board with ease. I have read more always felt the need to add effects when plugging in, not with this guitar. It sounds like every recording I have ever heard. Classic Martin sound with modern playability, I couldn't be happier.

Very happy with this one!

Decided to try the GPC16E in Mahogany as I like the mellow tone of that wood and have a couple other rosewood dreds. Also since I fumble around on both acoustic and electric the cutaway body is great for upper fret work. Finish on mine is flawless with a nice dull satin, vintage look. Tuners work well and seems to stay in tune so far. I think the base and mids aren't bad but don't read more expect the rolling thunder base sound like on a dred or jumbo. It for sure has that Martin tone though. Mainly play it unpluged but did hook it up to my Fender Tonemaster and was surprised as heck! The sound is great and lot of fine tuning capability with the onboard system. Definitely a keeper! Many thanks to James Wroblewski as always for his great help always answering even my most mundane questions!

Fantastic Value!

I couldn't be happier with my purchase of the GPC-16EM. The Mahogany does a nice job of taking the edge off the highs and fills out the mids for a full sound. Bass response is tamed down compared to a dreadnought but certainly there when you need it. Tuners are smooth as glass. Neck profile is spot on. On the thinner side but not too thin. The 000 depth makes the guitar much more read more comfortable to work with. Definitely not a deep body guitar. Foremost... the build quality of this guitar is tremendous. I mean really good. You can tell the instant you pick it up that you are holding a genuine USA built Martin.

After over 50 years of playing, I finally got a Martin!

I'd been looking for a quality acoustic-electric guitar that would be comfortable enough to play at gigs and really sound like an acoustic while played through the PA. I had an Epiphone EJ-200e, but the neck and body size were too cumbersome to play for any length of time. After weeks of research, I finally decided to treat myself to a Martin. I was able to get a great deal (as read more usual) from my long-time Sweetwater sales engineer, Tim Holsinger, on a beautiful mahogany GPC-16E. It is very comfortable to play and the sound of it plugged into the PA absolutely blew me away! I'm sure I'll get many compliments on how it sounds from my bandmates and all who attend our gigs. Buy yourself one of these...you won't be sorry!
