Massive sound in the coolest small cabinet around!!
First off, I waited months to write this review and so glad I did. I've been playing forever and owned many brand name and custom built cabinets. I bought this little 1x12 beast to use in my home studio with a Boogie Mark 5:25, Dr Z KT-45, and most recently a Friedman Runt 20. All I can say is OMG it puts out some sound! I'm typically not a fan of running Celestion V30s alone preferring… read more to mix them with other speakers, but it REALLY works in this cabinet. At first I wasn't sure but after several hours of break-in the cabinet just came to life! Cleans are full and blossoming, crunch is in your face (it's a V30, right?), and all the bottom end you could ever want, but the unexpected bonus is decent classic rock tones I usually associate with a greenback or G12H; playing the Friedman with my GT-1000 in the 4CM and holy cow it's good. I'm currently using it at home but would have absolutely no concerns using it in any live situation, even with a loud drummer. Overall it's just massive sound in an awesome looking, easy to transport package that comes with a cool canvas cover! What's not to love? Again, if you aren't sure hearing it out-of-the-box definitely give it time to break-in. Definitely made a believer out of me! Oh, and a shout-out to Jake Hersha for his patience and excellent customer service during my never-ending tone search. Thank you and the rest of the great staff at Sweetwater!
Mesa cabs really make a difference
I am now a believer - Mesa cabs do make a difference! A big one! Before having this, I was mainly using a Laney Premium GS212VR cabinet with Vintage 30s. I was very satisfied already but wondered why people on FB groups always recommended getting a Mesa cabinet with UL V30s. I thought it was just a recommendation coming from brand love but now that I have it, it really isn't. The… read more sounds of my Boogies really opened up. Interestingly, I don't need to dial in a good amount of gain to get where I want. As for the Mini Recto, I was reliant on having an OD to boost it for it to sound and "feel great" but with the slant cab, I can even dial it to 12 noon or less and be happy. This thing is also loud! I'm so happy with the cab that I bought a standard recto 112 cab to pair with the slant. If you're thinking of pulling the trigger, do it!
Thank goodness
I have been fighting for years to get the high pinginess out of my marshal cabinets and heads. I picked up a TA 15 and I just got this little rectifier angled amp. It's exactly the sound I've been looking for. I have a 2011 HSS silverburst strat and I just dumped in a Seymour Duncan pearly gate humbucker into it. The combination of these 3 items together is exactly the tone I've… read more been looking for my entire life. Its even loud enough for larger venues
Mesa/Boogie Mini Rectifier 1x12" 60-watt Angled Extension Cabinet
Mega Mini! I put together a mini stack using this guy on top and the flat face version below along with a Quilter Tone Block 202 behind my FX processor based pedal board and it's a giant killer! These cabs are fantastic. They're well built, look wicked and I can get all the massive tone I want at any volume from ear/practice room friendly to melt your face off. Thanks Mesa… read more for the awesome cabs! And thanks Sweetwater for having the best gear and the best service!
Mesa mini cabinet
It is a MESA and therefore excellent! I matched it with my TA15 head. The TA15 cabinet is an open back. The Mini is a slant front closed back and adds a while new depth of tone to the TA15 head.
