MP 15 Ultimate Fret Polishing System Review

Should Include Warning: DO NOT USE ON UNFINISHED FRETBOARDS

I used this product on a relatively new classical guitar with an ebony fretboard. The fretboard is now permanently scratched thanks to poorly made fret guards that came with this product, and liquid goo from the polishing pads left a whitish film that was nearly impossible to remove from the wood grain. It took hours of oiling and polishing with micro-mesh pads to finally remove… read more it all, but my guitar now has scratches all over the fretboard. This product probably works ok on fretboards with a lacquer finish (i.e. electric guitars/basses), but it is ABSOLUTELY UNSUITABLE for acoustic and classical guitars. That there is no warning anywhere on the packaging is unbelievable. I repeat: not safe for use on unfinished fretboards.

Highly Recommended, Easy to use, the frets were shining.!

The Lizard Spit fret polishing system works Great. I wanted to polish the frets on 3 of my guitars, all at once and I believe, this is the easiest and most effective way. The materials and the cleaner really got the dirt off of the frets, I couldn't believe how much dirt was on those frets. All three guitars came out nicely, the frets looked pristine. There are many other more professional and time-consuming ways and systems to polish your frets, but I got fantastic results and it took a quarter of the time to complete it.

Lizard Spit polishing pads...

Just the pads in a sealed packet is all I bought. I have the 'draftsman's shield' to protect a fretboard and expose only the frets. And I had removed the physical grime on a new guitar (with fairly cheap fret steel) with abrasive paper). the 'Lizard Spit' pad (just 1) took away all the corrosion on the frets and the shield as well. Great Polish, Kit can be improved.

The polish is great, and the microfiber cloth is also great. The product can be improved by dumping the fret guards as they are ultimately useless with the polishing compound. Include a roll of low tack masking tape instead and this product will be 5 stars. The Fret guards don't do anything to prevent the compound from getting on the fret board.
