It's cheap like the price..
The 70 eighty speakers lack the low end punch for metal, the cab is poorly constructed with particle board I replaced the stock speakers with WGS veteran 30's and it sounds much better. My advice would be save up for a well built cab.
The "Almost" Perfect Match for Your DSL Head or Combo
My friend bought one of these and I ran it this weekend with our loud band. At full band volume competing with bass on the pa, drumset, and a 100 watt 412 guitar setup, the built-in 12" DSL40 speaker is being pushed really hard. Adding this cab gives a fighting chance and gets you back in the mix. The tagline says it's the perfect match for a DSL head or combo. It is a great… read more match for the head, but not ideal for the combo - it's 8 ohms and the built in DSL40 speaker is 16 ohms. So you have to pick and choose which speakers you want to run vs running both cab and combo speaker all at once. Sure, you could run the 4 ohm taps, but 16 ohm cab on 4 ohms is further than I'd like to go. So we ran the 212 on the 8 ohm taps on its own. Works but not "perfect."
Absolute Tone Monster
Don't be fooled by it's small size... The MX212r packs a punch almost as good as a 4x12. Fully awakened my tone.. Like very very noticeably better sounding. Deeper, punchier, lush and crisp. Amazing for metal, hard rock and blues. Way better than lugging around a 4x12 too! Back saver! If you are considering a 2x12, this is the one...
Marshall MX212R
So glad I purchased this cab. I had been running a 4x12 before this. Needed something smaller for portability. The tone and size fit the bill.
Very nice cab
Not quite as deep as a 412 but still sounds awesome! Great cabinet.
