Great tuner for the money
I bought 2 of these last year; both are still working just fine. The display is fairly bright and easy to read. It seems accurate enough. The PolyTune I got earlier this year may be a little more precise, but it costs almost 3 times as much and was back-ordered, taking several months to ship early this year. COVID effect?
Not a good replacement for Snarks
I have quite a few Snark tuners and they have all gotten gooey from the soft touch coating and eventually the swivel joint has broken on all of them. I was looking for a suitable replacement in the same price range, so I purchased the Fender tuner. While I don't think it will have the same problems, it does seem to have trouble locking onto the higher strings, particularly on acoustic… read more guitars. Perhaps it's intended only for electrics, so I'll throw it in a case as a backup.
Great tuner!
I bought this one above all the other clip-on tuners for sale for a few simple reasons. 1. Fender is a known and trusted brand. 2. The price is right. 3. A chromatic tuner is preferable because I play slide in various open tunings and also play finger style in alternate tunings like DADGAG. It works perfectly! Tuning is accurate. Your electric guitar does not need to be amplified… read more for it to work. It clips easily onto any headstock profile and it's easy to swivel the screen around to whatever angle makes it easiest to read, whether you're playing while seated or standing. It turns itself off after a few minutes of inactivity. It is very easy to read with large letters and intuitive indicators to tell you if you are sharp or flat. I did not find the display dim. The battery is easy to access if you ever need to change it, though I imagine it will last for a long time. The only downside I can see is that now I tend to tune my guitar obsessively. LOL. Man, I wish they had this technology in the '70s when I was first learning to play!
Don't do it
The display on this tuner is very dim. Almost unreadable.
Too Dim
I was ready to like this tuner. Really. But it's only issue (for me) is that it is so dim. It's very hard to read, so it's pretty useless. That's it. Sure, it looks great in the photo. If you have vision like Superman you will not have a problem. Maybe I got a bad one? Who knows? But mine stinks. I waited too long to complain to Dan Robinson (ext.1642) but I'm sure he would have… read more had no problem with me returning it. But because I screwed all I can do is give this Fender tuner a lousy review. I hear their guitars are pretty good though.
