I was a big fan of the Ernie Ball patch cables before. But I never liked the size of the right angle connecter. They could make it difficult when using a noise gate that goes both to front of amp, and the FX Loop. Or other pedals with jacks that are close together. The large connectors got in the way of each other. These have a much smaller head on the connector. They both look… read more better on your pedal bored, and make hooking everything up a lot easier. As far as the flat ribbon. I don't think that really makes any difference. Other than looking a little nicer, coming out of the slots in the pedal board, and going up to the pedal.
