Tusq picks are a Total Game Changer!!!!
When dropping picks while playing sweaty gigs was an issue for me, I used to line up my guitar picks and put a couple dots of super glue on each pick to create some texture to easily grip even when sweaty. I tried a multipack of Tusq picks with different tones and thicknesses. They are textured on both sides but have a very slick tip. I thought they would be more difficult to… read more hold becuse the surface seems slick, but what instead happened is the tip of the pick SLIDES over the string, doesn't catch and get ripped out of your hand. THAT is what happens… you don't just "drop" the pick. Originally the bright white were my favorites because they are so easy to see on stage… but they also improved my tone!! It seems shocking at first the brightness, but on stage it helps notes chime. I demonstrate this for other guitarists by dropping a pick on a counter top and it rings like metal… just like PRS nut does compared to plastic. The 1mm IMO are the best for switching between acoustic, electric, double picking, or fast funk rhythms.

I really like these picks. I had bought them in the past several times. The last packs all had a problem. The plastic edges had overruns. I tried to file the edges but they just didn't have the same sound. Sweetwater was great to send replacements. Several of those had the same problem. I contacted Graph Tech and after a month of email exchanging, they sent some replacements. They… read more were not the same item. I took a chance and ordered them again and they were all fine.
It's a Pick
I like the feel and tone of the material, but discovering that my fingers like a smaller size pick makes using the standard size feel huge.
Best pick so far!
In my opinion this is the best pick I've used even in comparison to expensive custom picks. Crisp attack without being harsh. Stiff but thin. I expect them to wear rather quickly but they are fairly inexpensive. I'll take a guess and say that these are the picks that Troy Grady uses in his instructional videos because they have the same distinctive shape and pronounced attack.
