Looks cool sounds cool
Overall if you're a lefty with limited options and want a super strat this is a pretty good option. After playing through my usual routine (mostly overdriven with a boss katana amp 100w) I absolutely loved playing and writing rhythm parts specifically in drop D. The neck feels really dry almost like it could give you a splinter, but i actually like it. I played my les Paul studio… read more before hand and my hands always get a little wet. But this neck either doesn't have that effect on me or it soaks up my shred juice no questions asked. ( I bought this new btw).. for riffs and chording this guitar really shines. Super fun to play. Pretty bright sounding and has a nice gnarl on your low strings. The neck pickup up is pretty fun for low end riffage as well and chords sound nice but would probably get lost in the mix. My opinion is that Floyd rose bridges are really comfortable to play and palm mute so I like that and strings broke in relatively quickly and tuning held well after that. Soloing was a little more difficult than expected but with added effort as in picking harder and fretting harder I could play my usual stuff (probably just needed more compression or gain). The only other cons I have are the finish dents easily .. there is a noticiable complete loss of signal, and the neck feels totally unique which could take some getting used to for some. The guitars does sound amazing and there are a lot of different tonal options (I'm not too interested in signal coil tones right now) the tone control is also a push pull and is only activated while pulled out and then the tone knob is off when pushed in.. i do need to mention that this guitar is actually the best looking guitar I've ever owned. It just looks so cool and slick. And it doesn't reflect like normal gloss so it kind of stands out. Bottom line: I'll probably keep this in my active arsenal for quite some time and don't see myself selling it or trading it. Id consider buying another charvel in the future as well. My biggest complaint is that the pickup switching needs to be smoother and while palm muting and chugging is really fun and easy, shredding should not be more difficult on a super strat than a stock les Paul studio. But for what i prefer to write and play this guitar does inspire creativity and joy, just not quite perfectly
