An Exquisite Instrument
This is very likely the most beautiful instrument I have purchased over the years; truly a dream guitar. It beams with the quality and craftsmanship PRS has come to be known for. From tone to playability, this guitar is pro from end to end. Clearly, the inspired folks at PRS have been carefully methodical in the design and construction of this instrument. The carved hollowbody gives… read more it a distinctive sound and resonance. I am particularly amazed at the clarity and definition of each note sounding within chords. The electronics combined with body design make this a versatile guitar that can easily cross over from pop, jazz, rock, country, or even acoustic oriented music. I want to thank my sales engineer, Corey Elliott, for helping to make this happen for me. He and the Sweetwater team prove once again why I am so comfortable doing business with them. Great customer service cannot be faked; you guys are the real deal.
Hollowbody II
This guitar is a real pleasure to own and play. The guitars weight at 5lbs 10oz is like having nothing hanging from your shoulder. I can almost play it like an acoustic guitar it is that loud not plugged in. The tone plugged in is perfect for all the styles of music I enjoy playing. Really enjoy looking at this guitar top and back. This is the 90th guitar that I have owned and the… read more 22nd PRS. A great guitar all around. This is the 12th guitar I have bought from Sweetwater since 2017. My salesperson Kent Sallaz has really been top notch.
All-in-one
The McCarty 594 Hollowbody II is a meticulously crafted guitar. It is very light weight with powerful and articulate, coil tapped, pickups that deliver a wide range of tones.

Lush tone machine
First off, cheers to Mike Soper. My journey to get to this guitar was a long one, beginning months ago with an SE HB II Piezo. I wasn't the happiest with that guitar (although it was a nice guitar, don't get me wrong), and ultimately reached further into the pockets and ended up with the McCarty 594 HB II. I can't say enough about how smooth this guitar sounds. I spent hours playing… read more clean, low gain, high gain, exploring all 8 pickup combinations. Even the bridge pickup with split coil (tone knob pulled up) sounded sooooo buttery, and that should be the "harshest" sound on the guitar. There is so much versatility. To address the common question, I didn't have any feedback issue with high gain, but it hasn't been on a stage yet. I gave it some juice on a solid state amp and a tube amp and had no issues. The tone pots feel super smooth to turn and the push-pull feels nice and sturdy. The high frequency roll-off itself is very musical. the volume pots roll off very smoothly and consistently. For some reason, they feel a little different to turn than the tone pots, but not a bad thing, just different. The guitar came with a really sturdy 6-buckle hard case (2 buckles on the hinge side, never saw that before). Overall, this became the marquis guitar in my small collection of 4 electrics, 2 acoustics, and a bass. It's an expensive guitar, but it oozes quality...really well made, really beautiful, and sounds top-notch.
The best guitar I have ever owned!
I could not be happier!
PRS McCarty 594 Hollowbody II
What a great guitar! I've wanted a Hollowbody II for a long time, but couldn't justify the price. I was wrong, it's worth every penny. I was concerned about the Pattern Vintage neck, as I lean toward the slim taper side, but when I picked this guitar up, I forgot to worry about the neck. It Just felt natural. And the pickups are incredible! This doesn't sound like any other… read more guitar I've played, and I've played plenty. The word that comes to mind is "smooth", and not just the pickups, the entire guitar. It just feels like it was made for me. Mine is not a 10 top, but it's beautiful. The pictures attached look like two different guitars, but it's just the difference of seeing the finish "pop" when the sun (or stage lights) hits it. Special thanks to my man Spencer Kennedy for getting my guitar and me together. He's the best, and so's this guitar.
Don't need that 335 now
This baby is nice. Best guitar I own. My third PRS. The first two were two months ago. They're that good I sold off my Gibsons and the few DIY Warmoth-casters I used. This baby just sings. Sweetwater is great. Knowledgeable and super helpful. Mike G. is an enabler and I'm not bad about it at all. This thing is so gorgeous and it is such a treasure. I finally have guitars… read more now that make the sound I hear in my head that I want it to make.
Perfect !
This PRS McCarty 594 Hollow II, 10 top is just amazing. I've played it every day since it arrived. It's light, fast... perfect fit and finish. 58/15LT pickups offer a wide range of tone possibilities, with even warmer neck tone having perfect clarity--not muddy. When I first played one of these, my first thought was, 'Dang, that's clear.' The deciding factor for buying this… read more particular guitar was its beautiful top--even more attractive than a lot I've looked at in the past. And my sales rep, Tomir, at Sweetwater continues to be reliable, informative and an all around nice dude!!
