Junk

Lousy performance just like the barrel jack I was replacing hoping for less static popping and disconnects. Installed it better than the original but its the same junk. Now I'm modifying the instrument to accept a REAL output jack.

Bought to replace a worn barrel jack on my old Carvin guitar (cutting out when cable moved). Redoing the pickups and electronics. Thought I'd take care of the jack while at it. Works slightly better than that one, but still cuts out with most cables I've tried. If you're looking for a jack, save yourself the aggravation and just look for a Switchcraft instead. I hate[d] barrel jacks (until now)!

Been looking at one of these for awhile, and thanks to my new Nux B-5RC wireless unit exposing the intermittency going on with my Washburn N4's barrel jack which wasn't securely holding the Nux Tx (Transmitter) flush to the guitar. My "snap, crackle, pop!" moment onstage was brief, though, as I quickly rotated it in the jack until I found the "sweet spot" making proper contact. read more But that one time was enough to convince me to swap out my standard crap jack with a Pure Tone PTT5 this weekend, and the PTT5 in fact holds the Nux flush and secure and WITHOUT a single snap, crackle or pop to be heard even when rotating it 360° in the jack! Mission accomplished--thanks, Pure Tone!!

Didn't hold the cable well

I bought this to replace the jack in my Ibanez 8 string. This jack didn't hold the cable so it crackled if I moved at all. Sweetwater (ever customer service oriented) sent me a replacement switchcraft jack that they said was an exact replacement...and it is perfect. Not sure why the pure tone jack didn't work out...also not sure why I can't find the switchcraft jack they sent read more me on the website. I'm happy though, Sweetwater came through and definitely worth calling ahead of time for parts.

Well worth the money!

This thing is absolutely fantastic! I've had a regular style output jack from Puretone on one of my guitars for the past few years and absolutely love it! A friend of mine asked me to do some work on his Ibanez and one of the issues it had was the need for a replacement output jack. When I saw that Puretone came out with a barrel style jack I didn't hesitate to buy one and I'm read more glad I did. The connection is absolutely solid and quiet as can be! I've attached a couple pictures comparing the old output jack to the new Puretone jack
