It's hard to believe minor differences between gadgets can make such an impact. I used to have another clip-on tuner, and it worked perfectly fine for what it was. After many years of use, it started to fizzle out so I looked for another one and chose this D'Addario tuner. On paper, it's the same thing: a clip-one electronic tuner. But the new details have added so much more convenience… read more to the process. The three main things I really like: - It is very low profile, so it can stay permanently on the headstock even when the guitar is in the case. - It clips tightly, so it does not buzz when playing. - The on/off button is conveniently placed and responds quickly. By positioning the tuner so that the screen is behind the headstock, I can use by thumb to quickly squeeze the tuner on. Highly recommended!

I have several Kamaka ukuleles and I only use these D'Addario micro tuners on them! They're accurate, has a colored screen, is very low profile, and the parts that grip my Kamaka's won't damage the finish. I'm in love with these tuners! So much so that I bought them to give as gifts to a dozen friends for Christmas!

I won one in a contest (yay me!). Stayed in a box as a toy. My snark broke so I was forced to break this out. I was ASTONISHED! Low profile, stays clipped on, accurate and easy to read. What more could you want? Yes...free is good but purchase from Sweetwater is the next best thing.
