I like a clean headstock. These can be viewed horizontal or vertical.

I've been playing 45+ years and when I started there were 3 ways to tune. You used a tuning fork, a pitch pipe, or another instrument. Eventually there came these boxes with a needle that bounced around with every noise in the room. I tell you this so you'll have some idea how happy I was when I found these tight little units. They are compact, they trac the pitch of the note you… read more are tuning very well, the display is bright enough to see without blinding you and the batteries last. I own a dozen of them and I just bought lucky guitar 13 (it's a gift). I'll get a tuner for it as well. For the price, there's no reason to skip buying one. It's like not buying strings for your guitar. A headscratcher.

This micro sized tuner has a very nice appearance, small but easy to read. Does not look cumbersome on my mandolin or guitar.

Really happy with this tuner! My favorite part is that you can flip the actual display (as well as the unit). It's so small, it hides away easily even on a ukulele.
