Love this guitar!

This guitar is incredibly comfortable to play, the body is on the smaller side and you have access to the upper frets. The neck is satin finished and doesn't feel sticky at all. It's perfect for finger style or the percussive slap-a-chuck style of playing. It's not overly loud with strumming but comes with a pickup system so you can plug in if needed. The finish is beautiful and read more the entire thing oozes quality. Sweet water did an excellent setup job and it's such a breeze to make barre-chords ring out. I played a Taylor 214 and a handful of Martins before deciding to go with the Seagull. Something about being made in North America from sustainable woods makes me feel confident about this purchase. For what it's worth, I have an older Seagull "Natural Elements" CW Folk style guitar and this is the exact same body size. The Mosaic is solid wood sides and back, plays a little better, and sounds a little sweeter to the ear- but both are just amazing guitars.

This is a sweet lil pickers dream. It is not much for strumming. Not really a work horse guitar. But the thing has "hand made" all over it in the details. Looks do count some(well not for Willie Nelson haha). Now it is not a 5 star guitar (IMO). it would be for some folk who do not look for versatility in an extreme fashion. I like the electronics and it is not a big deal read more to put a battery in the bag inside so stop complaining about, or being apprehensive, over it. The Electronics improve the Guitar as the acoustics do need the help for the over all sound. Now, It is nice, so make no mistake. It is a quite playing guitar for those times you want to just play and listen to your own heart in the strings. Would I buy it again? YES, I would. It is a keeper. Would I recommend Seagull? YES, I would. Now to polish the apple: Rob Kramer is a great sales person and a knowledgeable Man. He is intelligent and not a pain in the butt which is often a combination with gifted people. I would Suggest doing business with him and With Sweetwater. They have yet to let me down after at least 15 string instruments I have purchased from Rob and Sweetwater. And to be honest that is not apple polishing. They are just that good.

I've owned many guitars over my life time, including Fender, Gibson, PRS, Martin, Taylor, and now Seagull with a few less expensive guitars in between. When it comes to my acoustic guitar evaluations I have never considered a Seagull because, well quite frankly they aren't in your face advertised the way Martin or Taylor's are. I have a Taylor 814 that I have been playing for 3 read more years and just felt like I had the best so never looked any further. One night I was invited to a jam session with some musicians in Cincinnati ( I'm from Louisville area). I took my Strat, Les Paul and my Taylor with me. Another one of the guitar players brought a 97 Seagull S6 and a 2002 Seagull S12 12 string. After a while playing I felt like his Seagulls had more sustain and the tone was pure and sweet. Don't get me wrong, my Taylor sounds great and plays great but when he told me how much they cost, where they were built AND how they were built I felt like, well I'll just say "out of tune." Well the time has come to buy a new Acoustic guitar so I started investigating SEAGULL. What I found was they are hand built in a small village outside of Quebec Canada, made of the finest tone woods with they're higher end guitars being built of solid wood. The DETAILS in they're craftsmanship is HAND'S DOWN beautiful, they play freaking great with a limited lifetime warranty, and the reviews were mainly 5 star no matter what site you were on and last but not least this guitar has the new L.R. Bags Anthem system in it with tru-mic technology. Killer System!!!!! Now I will admit this, I am not a fan of the battery being inside the soundhole, which this one is but it does has a battery check L.E.D. system on board to let you know where your battery stands before playing a gig so you don't get stuck on stage with your guitar going dead on you. I've only had it a few days but I probably already have 40-50 hours of play time on it, It's hard to put down.I've done the side by side comparison test with my Taylor and all I can say is do the test yourself. Go to a music store who carry's Seagull, Taylor and other fine guitars and play them, you will see what I mean. I gave it a 5 star rating because nothing that I own or have owned compares to the quality, sound and pricepoint of Seagull. there may be some people out there to argue that point but after 55 yr's of playing I think I know what I'm listening for and looking for in a guitar. With all this being said there is only 1 place that we (the band) go for our music gear, and believe me we have a lot of gear. That's sweetwater! Why? Because of the 55 PT inspection and 2 year warranty mainly. You can be assured when you get your equipment that it is at optimal playing capacity no matter what you get and sales and tech support is great. (go Randy) Also if your not happy with your purchase send it back on they're dime, no questions asked. They also have the best selection from beginner to top pro equipment with super quick deliveries so do yourself a favor check out Sweetwater you'll be glad you did.
