Great Guitar for the Money With Room for Improvement
The fit and finish of this guitar are probably the best things about it. I really have to commend Epiphone for improving their quality control with these new guitars. It's surprisingly heavier than I expected as the body looks to be a little thicker than its Gibson counterpart. The setup was near perfect out of the box thanks to Sweetwater's inspection process. I gave it 4 and a… read more half stars because the electronics leave a little to be desired. The potentiometers aren't the best, and aren't balanced. You have to roll the knobs back to about 3 to notice a difference in volume and tone. I mainly bought this guitar to clone my 2017 Gibson SG, so I'm going in with the intention to mod and replace the pots and pickups. That being said, if you have no intentions of doing that, it's still a fine guitar. Great for beginners too. Though if you get to the point where you're comfortable upgrading anything, I'd start with the pots.
