Accurate tuning at a very reasonable price
Great tuner, bright, accurate, long life
I have tc, snarks, meihl, and Peterson headstock tuners. This is as accurate as any, with a quick read out for fast decay instruments like mandolin or banjo. Read the manual. It has easy to access features and tuning read outs, and, for me was pretty intuitive, but, you should read to best use. Has auto off, which is great for battery life. AA battery in the pro gives really… read more long life. Ive also got 3 of the earlier 2032 battery versions. They are just as good. Complaints about tray access? Well the manual explains where it is, and how to unlock it. Cant understand these, as the tray design is used on many thin lighting remotes. Ive had 4 of these since they came out, about 4 years, daily use, jams, gigs, home. Still solid. I love these tuners. As noted there is NO other clip tuner with as bright a read…outside in direct sun, its easy to read.
Great little clip-on!
A .1 cent accuracy strobe tuner at an entry-level price - what's not to love? The wrap-around display looks great, and it's bright and easy to read. You can use it as a regular 'needle' tuner, but to get the most accuracy you'll want to use it in strobe or half-strobe mode (selected with the dial on the left). Look for a video on how to read a strobe tuner if you're not familiar… read more with them, as it's not as immediately intuitive as a needle. The battery is plenty easy to get to. Just hook your fingernail or a guitar pick under the little latch on the left, push it to the right to release the latch, then pry outward (toward you) to open the battery drawer. My only real complaint is that the clip could be a little more robust.
Does the Job A+
Great Guitar Tuner. Works great on my Strat. NOTE: To open the BATTERY compartment, I turned the tuner so SHPRO is upside down, then gently (easy here) using a pocket knife, pushed the "A" pin towards center, while at the same time sliding out the compartment tray. Put in the battery with + facing UP. Works great.
Pounds the others out
The Sledgehammer works fantastic when you're playing outside and you have sunlight or bright light. That was my primary purpose and wanting a new headstock tuner that I could use for all the gigs that I have outside. No need to get more expensive tuners by other brands this has the same accuracy as they do all three different views are excellent and well laid out I do like the strobe… read more tuning view. I've use the tuner on a few gigs and I have no issues and it works excellent. Thanks sweetwater for the excellent customer service and getting it to me quickly thank you Chris McCown.
