Works great and excellent applicator!
This is truly a well thought out and packaged product that simply works. Recently purchased a 94/95 Fender MIJ Tele with issue on high E and B strings. Applied, waited 30 seconds, put strings back in slots and all good! Tunes up proper now AND stays in tune. Even though it contains graphite the applicator allows you to perfectly dress the string lube so it doesn't get all over AND… read more it's non-petroleum so won't effect nut or wood. Wipes clean!!!
I Can Use My Bigsby Now!
This stuff rocks!! I recently put a Bigsby on my Gibson Les Paul and I stopped using it because it wouldn't ever return to tune properly. I have an Epiphone Les Paul also with a Bigsby that's never had any problems (I think the nut is actually plastic). Anyway, this Slick Nutz stuff solved the problem. I was worried I was going to have to get a new nut/material, etc, but now it… read more returns to tune like a champ! No more binding in the nut slots!
Works well
I've tried a lot of these nut slot/saddle lubricants in the past and have been uniformly disappointed. This one is different. It's a thick gel that you simply apply to the nut slots and saddle top when you change strings. Given some time, the gel dries into a slick graphite coating, the effects of which can definitely be appreciated while tuning the guitar afterwards. One caveat… read more - you do need to let it dry for at least a couple of hours before re-tightening the strings. Without a sufficient dry time the product seems to get stripped off by tight strings. Also, be aware that this product is black and is capable of irreversibly staining bone components.
