Beautiful, but an overall letdown
This cabinet is absolutely beautiful, very lightweight and a perfect size. Those are the only "Pros" I can give it. The cons are:1) The included speaker sounds like crap. Nothing like a vintage Celestion. I immediatley swapped in a Alnico Cream and it sounds fantastic, but now the cabinet is $... At the price that they are asking, it should already come with the Alnico.2) The cabinet… read more construction is a disappointment and is not built to last 50 years or more, like the cabinets they made in early years. They state that the cabinet is made of birch plywood, but they should say that it is made WITH birch. It is actually made of birch plywood, pine and MDF. I couldn't beleive they use MDF on a top tier cabinet at this price.3) The Tolex chosen for this cabinet is paper thin and will be easily damaged. I understand that it is marketed as a studio/small club cabinet, but for this kind of money, they should not be cutting corners anywhere. A small bump into anything is going the have you cussing. If you can find one used or heavily discounted new, I would recommend trying one out. Be prepared to swap the speaker right away though. If your only option is to pay retail, I would definitely recommend you pass on it. They are plenty of companies out there who will make a similar cabinet that is constructed much better, for much less money.
Sv112 cab. Gorgeous, but lame speaker.
Ok at... retail, this is a crazy expensive 1x12 box. And is comes with a frankly horrible speaker. Unless y9u are playing at bedroom volumes, then it's adequate. BUT! It's arguably the best looking best built Marshall cabinet made Since the 60's. I tossed a Corea back in mine so I could march it up with wit either the sv20 head or a real 50 watt plexi in a pinch. It sounds terrific… read more now and looks so good that my wife doesn't mind it in the livingroom.
Made in england-quality shows
I cant review the speaker because ive used greenbacks for a long time and it sounds phenomenal in this cab!! Personally i think open back is the way to go for smaller rooms like mine where your not trying to push big volume. The quality, fit and finish is spot on no tilted logo-grill cloth dead straight-piping perfect and not a single ding or scratch.
Nice sounding open back cab
Great sounding cabinet paired with a origin 50 head. Its kinda expensive though.
