Hard To Find A Case For

Todd Utpadel

The guitar it self plays beautifully, when I ordered the guitar no case was available. I have been sent 2 different cases and the guitar does not fir in either one without being forced into the case. This is not my first Takamine, and not my first jumbo. My fear the guitar is off on it's measurements. Do not order the guitar unless that can ship it in the case.

Truthfully, I didn't expect much, but boy was I wrong! It's a beautiful guitar that sounds fantastic. It has a deep, rich tone and projects like crazy. This is my first jumbo, and it will likely be my last. It compares very favorably to the Gibson I bought many years ago. If you're looking for a great acoustic guitar and a tremendous value, look no further. As ALWAYS, the Sweetwater read more team performed flawlessly, led by my Sales Engineer,Randy Poteete.

Amazing sound and looks! I got the all natural maple and it"s a stunning guitar in looks and amazing in sound. Much better sound than many other expensive competitions. If you"re looking for amazing sound and looks this is a great great option. Crisp and meety sounding just like any jumbo body should. Action is very comfortable. Hands down best option for the price.

OK Guitar

I too bought this as a Christmas deal with a natural finish. Beautiful finish by the way. I was looking for a backup guitar to my main Takamine. The action was a little high, but nothing that a couple small turns of a wrench couldn't get into play, not perfect, but very playable. The tuning machines, particularly the G and D were tight and somewhat hard to turn. I always replace read more the factory strings on a new guitar. For a Jumbo it sure has a small sound. Unplugged it was very thin and small sounding. My cheap old Ibanez (the guitar it was replacing) is much louder. Plugged in, it sound good, not great, but for the price the sound is what you would expect. The G string is a little weak sounding, not a deal breaker, but something to be aware of...the same is true of my Jumbo body Tak 12-string. I brought her to a show case I had, a 40 minute set of originals and she performed adequately. Again, not amazing, but solid. So, take this for what it's worth.

Kaboom Again

I purchased this GJ72CENAT in a natural finish on a Christmas deal. I already have a G "Big" body EG523SC and was already blown away with it. One of the complaints with the EG523SC is that the set-up is always too high. even the local Luther told me this could not meet tight standards like my Taylor and he was right, so the sound was great but after an hour or so I would have some read more stress due to the slightly high set-up. So now on a chance on this model "GJ72CENAT I received it in perfect condition, with a battery already loaded. Only two strings needed tuning and to my great pleasure the set-up was as low as my pro level acoustic. The pick up is the same as my other Tack, the TK-40 and is a solid good sounding system. This is a china made guitar but I have no complaints with the workmanship. In fact for what I paid it is most impressive. I have a Cool tube on another Tak and it is the best of the best, but unplugged I would put this new Tak up against anything out there. I did notice the sound hole is a little wider from 3 7/8 to the new 4" than my previous G body and the body is actually a bit wider too from 16 1/2 to 17 inches wide but will still fit my TKL case and sounds amazing. Even my wife likes it. I have played it for a few weeks and am highly impressed with the sound and play-ability. Thanks Sweetwater and thanks to my sales engineer Greg. Nice product, service and price. I simply could not turn this one down and I was right on this deal. Happy! Happy! Happy! Blessings to all my picking friends, and Merry Christmas 2015. Even at full price this is a solid guitar, Takamine has won my business with performance again.
