Beautiful guitar!

This is a beautiful guitar with incredible tone and playability. It has a rich resonant sound and is truly a joy to play. This is my third Takamine. They make great guitars.

Wonderful Guitar & Service from Sweetwater

Sweetwater has been a pleasure dealing with from start to finish. They shipped the guitar the same evening I ordered it (all for nothing, but still kudos to them). The Takamine P4DC has exceeded my expectations. What a gorgeous guitar! Aesthetically it's impeccable. As far as the setup, it was almost perfectly in tune and the neck relief was outstanding. The action was a tiny bit read more high, but I know that's typical of new acoustic guitars. I shaved the saddle a little & all is well. The acoustic tone is very nice & warm. It's nothing like my 23-year-old Martin D-35, but I didn't expect it to be. It surely beats the pants off of my cheap Fender acoustic and an older Takamine G-series that I have.I haven't had the pleasure of plugging the Tak into a full sound system yet, but it sounds terrific through a small practice amp. I love the level of control you have in sculpting the sound.I knew I'd love this guitar, and I was right. It's a keeper, for sure. Thanks, Sweetwater!!

Another great Tak

Have an EF341SC and wanted to get the same body style with the cool tube preamp.. I have one on my Takamine classical guitar and just love it.. I concur with most of the reviews of this guitar.. It is BEAUTIFUL and sounds GREAT!! I also agree with several other reviewers regarding the action..the nut on this guitar is "NOTICEABLY" higher than my EF341SC creating a little higher read more action making it a "little" more difficult to play than my EF341SC..It still plays great, the EF341SC just has lower action and you can fly on it.. I have to admit, after playing many acoustic guitars that the EF341SC is almost impossible to beat for playability, but they don't make one with the cool tube preamp as far as I know.. I also got this guitar because the tone wood lends itself to a little more clarity/chime/sparkle than my Martin.. I love a nice bright acoustic.. I LOVE this guitar but would have just purchased another EF341SC if I could have gotten one with the cool tube.. But I like the looks of this one better.. I should have taken my salesman's advice, Alan Moon, as he's never steered me wrong, and gotten the Luthier's to set this guitar up and file the nut down some prior to shipping but am always to anxious to get guitars..

Wow

Ok, I haven't bought a guitar in about six years. I have never bought one over the internet without playing it first. Until now. I bought this guitar because I like the demo and the sound was sweet. I am in love. I got it today andI I haven't put it down. Hyperbole maybe, but, there are angels inside. The overtones are wonderful. They just make me smile. I am in love.

Fine Guitar without the high price

I am a hobbyist with about 12 years experience. I've had my P4DC for about 6 months and it is rapidly becoming my favorite guitar. The playability is excellent and the quality is 100%. Tone is much better than I would expect from a guitar in this price range, I have a more expensive Martin with the Fishman Aura system, and 2 Taylors with the Expression System. Plugged it, the read more electronics in the Takamine beats them both. (It also works well with pedals) and holds its own against the above unplugged as well. The only minor drawback - I wish they had used white dots on the fretboard as the wood grain ones are hard to see. But that's a really minor point as the fretboard purfing has usable black dots. I would highly recommend the P4DC to anyone looking for a top notch acoustic-electric guitar.
