Recording and Amped Bang for your buck

Ordered this fine lady a couple weeks ago and have put her through the paces. She's a little shy and cigar-box sounding unplugged, which is to be expected with a thinline. But maaaan does she sing through an amp, I'd swear the clouds opened up and let the sun warm my shoulders when I let her loose on every one of my amps, still need to run her through my Rednet setup to get a full… read more picture, but this lady is on track to be my go-to recording girl. In short, if you're looking for a good pickin' and grinnin' guitar for 'round the campfire, probably not the guitar for you. If you're looking for a guitar that sings like a a sweet angel through an amp and for recording, absolutely a must buy.

Beautiful guitar with a bright tone

I have this beautiful guitar and not only is the figured Koa incredible but I really love the sound. It isn't a big boomy sound like a dreadnaught guitar but more of a sparkle sound almost like a 12 string. It has that bright quality about it. Flawless ebony embraces the fretboard making a smooth playing surface. It feels as smooth as my Fender American Stratocaster with the maple fretboard. This guitar has exactly the sound I was looking for. My only complaint is the strings are a bit high and I prefer a lower action. I did have my guitar plek'ed before delivery and now I am wondering if that process shaved a little too much from the frets? I am not sure that is possible. If you are thinking about this guitar I would recommend that you pull the trigger before Koa wood gets priced out of sight.

My Takamine 178 ACK Slimline review

I've been playing guitars for years ,since I was 12 years old. At present including the new Takamine 178 ACK N I own 6 quality acoustic guitars, 2 Gibson 2 Taylor 1 Maton . The reason for me looking for the thine line guitar was that I have a bad [right] shoulder. On a 3 hour gig I was having to take pain killers to get through the performance. So I searched the Net. 2019 Namm had… read more a review on this guitar and I liked the specs on it .However I could only find 1 review from a customer. So I decided to take the risk and negotiated a fare price through my local dealer MEGA MUSIC. WANGARA. PERTH WESTERN AUSTRALIA accepting the the risk was mine. I ordered the guitar in July 2019 ,I received it 1st April 2020 the delay was partly due to the corona virus. First impression light as a feather but stable .The finish is outstanding the gauge of strings were 0.012 to 0.053. At first they were ok But When I played for 3 hours with my band ,I thought I would try 0.010 to 0.047 .It felt much better. Before I changed the strings I checked the neck and it was straight so I was concerned that lighter strings may cause fret buzzing .but it was fine. After adjusting the guitar strap to the correct height no more bad shoulder. The string spacing is narrower than some my other guitars so if I'm using an other guitar on the same night the 335 is very close. The 178 ACK is a very comfortable guitar to play stood up an sat down ,It stays in tune .I haven't worked it out how long the battery life is yet I'm on my third battery in 5 months I play solo and with my trio guitar, bass, drums. So most of the time I play rhythm. through pa HK and solo A.E.R acoustic amp the sound is full through both sound systems.overall im very happy with the product. the controls are very responsive the filter control takes a bit of getting used to but the overall sound is vesatile .
