Just As Expected

I bought the 210ce plus as an inexpensive alternative to buying a Gibson J45 or Martin D28. This guitar, while it doesn't sound as rich and pristine as a Gibson or Martin, it's strength is in its pickup system. The Expression 2 system is way better sounding that the pickups used in Gibson or Martin acoustics. The natural sound is pleasant but really comes alive when plugged into read more an acoustic amp or PA. I use a Baggs venue DI to help with some of the overtones naturally created by the guitar and get a natural sound and tone as if it is unplugged. The action was a bit high for me but I switched strings down to a set of 11s and the neck straightened out and I dropped .010 of an inch. This made the guitar super playable. The playability is very good but I'm still getting used to the unfinished neck. Natural tone is nice, and when amplified, comes to life and will make this a performance guitar. The Aero case is especially nice in that it's as hard as a hard shell case but still has an outside pocket and shoulder straps that can be hid behind a zippered enclosure. All in all a nice package for the beginner or the pro. Also, if you are worried about this and other 200 series guitar being laminate sides, don't. The sides are layered. You can surely see rosewood on the inside of the guitar as well as the outside. A nice guitar for jamming, performing and even recording.

I have had this guitar for about a month. Every time I pick it up I love it even more. I had it set up at Sweetwater so I do not know how it was out of the box. It plays easily and although it only has a solid top the sound is amazing. I got the 210 dreadnought style because I like the bigger sound. I have 4 other acoustic guitars. One is a Maton and the other is a Martin, read more they are both great guitars but this Taylor sounds and plays the best. Also David Yanes, sales associate was very helpful during my purchase of this guitar. Bottom line always do your research before you purchase on line so you know what questions to ask. This is the second guitar I have purchased through Sweetwater and I am quite happy. I love the Taylor 210 ce Plus. I bought the Plus because of the gloss finish and the Aero case. I think a gloss finish protects the guitar a bit better. It has turned out to be my favorite guitar that I play everyday.

A Very Good Medium Range Guitar

I have an O.C. Bear Madison (OM style), which was hand-crafted by luthier Clint Bear, who is from Madison, Indiana. It has an Adirondack top and cocobolo back and sides with a mahogany neck. I plan on getting back into performing this summer and wanted a backup to the Bear, which is a beautiful instrument. Given this, I think the Taylor 210ce Plus is an incredibly good guitar. read more It is well-crafted and without flaws. The tuners are good and the finish is perfect. I was very surprised by it's rich, bright tone and sustain. It is very pleasing. Almost boomy. As a dreadnaught, it fits my large size very well. I think that anyone who purchases this guitar will be very happy with it. People question the layered Rosewood back and sides. I don't see it as a negative except that it makes the guitar always sound at full volume without the kind of nuance I am accustomed to with my O.C. Bear. But again, the sound of this guitar is clear and crisp. I have only plugged it in once, but I thought the sound system was adequate. I really like that the battery can be changed externally. That is a plus! I have only one complaint. I know that manufactures don't set up guitars before shipping, but the strings were so high off the neck, the guitar was virtually unplayable after the fifth fret. Fortunately, I found a luthier in my town who set it up within twenty-four hours (I really call this a stroke of luck, and this guy knows his stuff). This guitar gets my approval rating. Well worth the money.
