This guitar is simply amazing! It sounds fantastic, is extremely comfortable to play and looks great. You'll find yourself picking it up more than any other guitar you have. If you try it, you're going to love it!

Sounds Beautiful and Plays Great

I can't say enough about how good this thing sounds and plays. It has nice crisp highs and big open lows yet it's very even. It's so easy to play right out of the box too. For the price you really can't go wrong with this thing.

My first real acoustic

Thank you Sweetwater for a great purchase experience of my new Taylor. It came to my home in just a couple of days after purchase in perfect condition. Out of the box ready to play and the sound, well it's a Taylor. Thank you Lindsey for your help and follow thru. Sweetwater rocks!

Over the years, I've started and stopped learning guitar many times. I'd get frustrated with my lack of progress and put it down, but after a while I'd pick it up again, basically starting over. During the summer I heard a song that I've always liked and thought I MIGHT be able to pick out the chords and maybe play the song. I pulled out my entry level guitar and ordered a new set read more of strings. I began to get really interested in guitar again and thanks to online lessons I started to make slow progress. My son in law has a nice Takamine guitar that let me borrow it and I was amazed at how much easier it was to play than my Washburn. The Washburn is actually a nice guitar but kind of hard for my novice fingers to fret. I had a milestone birthday in February (my 65th) and my wife wanted to get something nice for that special birthday. A good and well respected friend (and awesome guitar player) suggested I contact Sweetwater and specifically mentioned Brent Luthold as someone he'd worked with many times. I took his advice and spoke with Brent, trying to decide between Taylor or Martin. The Taylor 214 was in my price range and in stock, the equivalent Martin was out of stock. I placed the order on Monday and my new Taylor arrived on Thursday, two days before my birthday. As anxious as I was to open the carton, I heeded the warning of the big green sticker on the carton to allow everything to acclimate for 24 hours. When the 24 hours had finally elapsed, I excitedly opened the carton to view my beautiful Taylor 214ce. I couldn't have been happier! A few weeks later I met with my friend that recommended Sweetwater and he played my 214 (he has a 914 that's over 20 years old) and he commented that my guitar played and sounded exceptionally good. He said Sweetwater must have spent some extra time setting it up. Anyway, Taylor and Sweetwater are awesome and I look forward to continuing my guitar journey with my Taylor 214ce.

I bought my Taylor a while ago and it is as everyone else describes... wonderful. Neck is fast and smooth, the sound is great and the action is fantastic. I have to admit that this won't be my last Taylor. I have other acoustics and this is my go to guitar. The only things I have changed were the tuners cause the original were sort of cheap and the d string tuner had issues. I got read more nicer Taylor tuners... from Sweetwater and they were easy to replace. I also changed the truss rod cover. It came with a plastic one and I called Taylor and they sent me a ebony one... It's weird... If you call they can get one no problems, but you cant find them retail. Even the Taylor rep I talked too said he couldn't explain it, but they have them for sale. I just felt like if I was paying 1K for a guitar give me a pretty wood cover to match not a plastic one. All in all this is a wonderful guitar and I'm sold on Taylors for sure.
