I love this model Taylor

I bought this model because I wanted a slope shoulder style dreadnaught. I'll have to say that I am blown away by this one. This thing sounds incredible! It plays so nice and in true Taylor fashion, the build quality is outstanding. Stays in tune, and has an amazing sound. My last Taylor was an 814ce fall limited, so my expectations were set high. This guitar has met them all. read more I play it every night! One more thing to mention, the tooled leather hard case is beautiful! It's so pretty, my wife does not mind it being being left out as part of her decor!

Wonderful guitar

I am a Martin purist, using a microphone for acoustics for live performance. I decided to try a Taylor with the vaunted electronics for my last gig. I wanted a dreadnou style shape for some of our bluegrass tunes, but with clear note articulation for other style leads and fills. I also wanted a good guitar but not something so high end that I would be afraid to take it out to gigs. read more This guitar checked all the boxes! I had never played or heard the sapele tone wood in action, and it did not disappoint. It does sound a bit like a compromise between mahogany and rosewood, as advertised. The neck is very comfortable and was a pleasure to play for both flat picking and finger style. The nut width and string spacing accommodated both approaches nicely. It was nice to be more unencumbered by ditching the instrument mic.The V class bracing is as promised, with exceptional note definition, perfect intonation, and a big voice unplugged. The fit and finish is flawless, with excellent tuning machines and a very nice hard shell case. The Taylor sound is different than the Martins, with a bit more treble presence and a little sharper definition, which works well for leads and fills. Still, my Martins reign supreme in some respects, with stunningly beautiful tone, fullness, and sustain, that sometimes takes me to a special musical nirvana. However, at some point I must compare a very high end Taylor with the Martins, but this Taylor fit my needs perfectly. Greg Baum and Sweetwater were exceptional service, as usual.

What a great guitar. I have not had it very long but I did use it this weekend at worship service. I'm very happy with the rich full tone. Fit and finish is exceptional and the neck feels fantastic. Aaron makes every purchase a breeze and is incredibly professional. Thank you Sweetwater! Mike

The 317e is a solid wood Taylor that does not disappoint. I Love this guitar and sweetwater as well. Thanks so much to Ryan Haines that went the extra "several hundred" miles to help me. I'm picky as are most people when they are spending a couple thousand dollars. If you want guitar advice from a person that plays guitar and knows guitar, ask for Ryan Haines.
