I've got an older 510ce ... I've loved Taylor for years. Their sound is distinctive and their look is iconic. I posted a pic below of the AD17e hanging in my office with my 510ce. I'm so grateful for the AD series, as I've wanted a GP body for a long time. I live the sound acoustically. The ES2 system, honestly, is taking a little getting used to as my 510 has the old school Fishman read more system in it but it's playability and sound is great. I had such a great purchasing experience with Stephen at Sweetwater. I have zero issues with using them. Highly recommend the guitar - highly recommend Sweetwater!

AD17e in Natural finish is AMAZING! Everything I have come to expect from Taylor guitars. But,just as I speculated, the "Blacktop" finish kills it's response and projection greatly. I am glad I played them both before making my purchase.

I have obtained my dream.

Okay, I know the title is a little cheesy, but it is actually true. I have been wanting a solid wood, made in America Taylor guitar. My playing ability is fair for strumming and rhythm, but just not good enough to justify paying 3 or 4K. Then my youngest son, a long Time Taylor picker who is a very good guitarist told me about the AD17e American Dream. So I decided to spring for read more it. I am very glad that I did. It just feels right to me. The sound, the feel, it's just what I thought a Taylor should be. I even like the satin finish. The electronics sound great when connected to my acoustic amp. I have other guitars, a couple are good, and a couple of them are great, but this Taylor is special. So yes, I know Taylor will make and does make a guitar to fit every need at every budget level, but this is a solid wood, American made Taylor, that has fulfilled my dream. Pun intended, I have really desired an American Taylor, and now I have it. I guess dreams do come true!

It looks good, feels good, and plays great. This is an essentials only guitar that offers price savings in exchange for leaving out some cosmetic features. It's non gloss and the wood feels more natural than some more expensive guitars I've played. I had a GS Mini that I exchanged for this and I noticed that the guitar is super lightweight which I'm not used to in acoustics. read more I'm used to a more "heavy duty" acoustic that feels a little tougher but I'm sure this guitar will be just as durable. I'll probably purchase a higher end model at some point but this is my first Taylor so I'm going to enjoy it. If I were to try to explain the difference between this model and say a 300 series I would compare it almost to a studio vs standard. You're basically not paying for all the extra bells and whistles but getting the basics to get the job done. The Aero case is fantastic as it's soft and light but it's super protective. I'm please with my purchase.

Quality Affordable American Made Taylor

I was hesitant. I had this in my top two prospects for a new acoustic. I wasn't sure about the tone of an unfamiliar wood species. I was looking at something in the $1000 range, but almost everything was either laminate back and sides, or made over seas. I took a shot, and the gamble payed off big time. This guitar is so full sounding. It has that Taylor sparkle, but it really has read more a sweet spot in the middle and bottom end. The guitar was flawless, functionally, and cosmetics you. I know this was a no frills, plain Jane guitar, but it is beautiful. The classy wood Rosetta, and sleek Mahogany neck and front binding are timeless. The neck is so comfortable, polished frets, and flawless tuners make this a keeper. It's not fancy, just a hard working, nice looking blue collar American guitar. Kind of like that sweet girl/guy next door you kind of had a crush on. It also comes with a fantastic case. It's really the best of both worlds. It protects like a hard shell, but is convenient like a gig bag. Big thanks to my sales engineer Luke Bassett for scoring me a deal, and reassuring me on the quality. He is the man. With the 36 month financing option, it was meant to be. Don't hesitate, grab one, If you are like me, and looking to step up to a pro-grade American made, give this American Dream a try.
