Taylor GT K21e

I waited and procrastinated a year before finally getting this incredibly nice Addition to the Taylor line. The sound is clear and vibrant with buttery undertones in the lower range. You can apply the Goldy Locks approach to this Guitar, it's perfection in so many ways. It should only get better with age. The price was a little out of my comfort range, hence the long runway read more to finally pulling the trigger, but the folks at Sweetwater made the process easier with a small discount as well as helping to choose which one among the different serial numbered guitars . The guitar was shipped the next day after purchased. Sweetwater kept me up to date on shipping/delivery with tracking Number. The unit was shipped a box in a box with plenty of padding, so the guitar arrived unschathed. I am impressed with the gig bag, nice fit and plenty of padding all around, good straps and heavy material. The Taylor GT K21e was money well spent and worth every penny! If you are comfortable with the cost, go for it!

Breathtaking sound and looks

I have been strictly a Martin guy forever, until now. I was looking for a Koa wood guitar sized for camping trips. Taylor makes a smaller version, but when I tried that I didn't care for the tone. This model, however, is perfectly sized for what I want it for and sounds rich and full. A tiny bit on the treble side, but I'm hoping that will mellow over time. It has been good for read more finger picking and strumming. Yes, it's expensive for a "camping" guitar, but in my opinion it's totally worth it. I was initially skeptical about the case because all my guitars have hard cases. It turns out this case is exactly what I needed because of its backpacking straps. Don't let the fact that it's a travel case fool you. It is very substantial and protective. I won't be checking it on a plane, but I wouldn't do that to any guitar. My only complaint is that it has electric capabilities built in. I have no need for that and I wish Taylor made that optional. The guitar is so incredible that I am willing to overlook that. Bottom line, if you like the looks of an instrument as much as the tone, this will not disappoint!

Taylor's new Jewel box

I've had the GT K21e for a few weeks now. Right out of the box, I could sense it was a special little guitar. The action and muscle necessary to get a clear sound was so easy. It is as louder or louder than my 512ce 12 fret Ltd. It is gorgeous. The case is luxurious, just love the back pack straps. Only drawback is there is not any room inside the case for tuner/capo, all storage read more is in the outer pockets which can hold lots of music. With an inspection mirror, I was amazed at how lightly braced the top is, I hope the single main brace can keep the bridge from warping in the long haul. It's like nothing I've seen before on a top. But this bracing, I'm sure has a hand in how amazing the guitar sounds. I chose one from Sweetwater to minimize the Simmons Wedge of the back, it is a 4 pc. back and noticeable on most of the specimens. The guitar and travel case begs to go out and gig, although at its' expense/value it is a risk not easily taken. I think it is my "if you can only grab one in the fire" guitar and that is saying a lot! If you don't have a wife, kid's needing your money, and some extra $$$ burning a hole in your bank account and love Koa wood, treat yourself. You will love this little guitar.
