Goldilocks acoustic for electric guitarists

Sweetwater Customer

I'm 99% an electric guitarist but like having an acoustic around for just jamming on fun songs. A friend got a GS Mini, which was very fun and slingable but sounded a bit thin and the scale length was too short for my taste, and I have a 322ce, which plays beautifully but I never really bonded with. The GT falls right in the middle for what I want from an acoustic - a GS Mini read more with more room on the fretboard, similar string tension, and a much better sound. The walnut/spruce combo accentuates the fundamental in sort of a woody, Martin-esque way, which I love (check out the Alamo Music Center demo to compare the different woods). Can't recommend this highly enough if you mostly play electric and want a fun, nice-sounding acoustic for campfire jamming. Only thing I'd want to be different is a spruce/walnut GT with some of the nicer bling of higher-end Taylors, but that has nothing to do with sound or playability.

No built in tuner :(

I love! This guitar the only downfall is that it doesn't have the built in tuner. That would have been the cherry on top! Otherwise I love this guitar!

GT stands for Get This!

Wow! I've had my GTe Blacktop for just a few days now, and I am already in Love with it. It is the perfect guitar for me; the size, scale length and nut width. Not to mention the quality of sound it produces. And that will only improve over time. Plus, it looks so cool! Also love the tone and look of the walnut back and sides. Taylor has another winner here. Big shout out to my read more Sales Engineer Joe Holsclaw and the rest of those involved in my new guitar's setup, inspection, packing and shipping. Joe is awesome; always helpful, knowledgeable, prompt and cheerful. I highly recommend Sweetwater and the Taylor GTe Blacktop!
