Long lasting feels & sounds great
I normally use .90 Dunlop Ultex Sharp picks for the last couple years, but wanted a lighter pick for when I play acoustic. These Clayton Ultem picks feel/sound similar to the Dunlop Ultex picks but they have a matte finish which provides a slightly better grip. Dunlop Utlex wasn't available in this lighter gauge, so I tried these and have been VERY satisfied with them. What is… read more great about the Clayton Ultem and the Dunlop Ultex is that they wear slowly and evenly. They also hold their shape well, don't chip and will stand up to pick slides without getting a serrated edge from the wound strings cutting into them. Attack-wise, they are not too bright like celluloid and not so dull as Dunlop's Tortex material. The edge on them is very smooth and I get 3 to 5 times the use out of these picks compared to celluloid picks. I really dislike using anything but Ultex or Ultem picks.
Amazed
I bought these because I was just looking for something different. After using them I'm amazed by the difference. I used to think that a pick is a pick and the only real difference was the shape or ability to hold onto it. Wrong. These picks actually sound much different than anything else I've used. They are noticeably brighter. It's like you just changed strings. I never thought… read more I'd be all excited about a pick but these are fantastic.
