This works flawlessly, simple to install and surprisingly sturdy. The problem is that it really alters the string tension, making them really loose and there's no way to setup the guitar to compensate for the loss of tension. Another problem is tuning stability, the saddles seem to catch the string and not let lt go with even the slightest touch of the bar. I've tried everything… read more I can to try and help - graphite on the saddles, stretching the strings and trying a different spring but none of it has helped at all. I've read in forums that some people had some luck by swapping the stock saddles with roller saddles but I think I've gone as far as I'm willing to accommodate this mod. It looks really cool and if you like a looser string tension (think a strat with 9's) then this might work for you; as for the tuning stability-I'm at a loss but it could be something that I did wrong with the installation.
Works with B-70!!!
A while back I bought an Epiphone 50's Goldtop Les Paul with the intention of modifying it. Put SD Phat Cats in it and loved it. Also wanted a Bigsby too. Bought a B-70 for cheap and yesterday got my Vibramate V-7. Vibramate says you can't use a V-7 with a B-70. You Can!!!!! I just installed it and it does work!!!! Holes in the Tailpiece part lined up well but I had to get some… read more longer 6/32 (1/2 inch cut off a little) screws to mount the B-70 to it. The holes also lined up well on the strap button part (there are only 2 on a B-70). I also had to use a longer screw for my strap button. I admit it hangs a little long where the strap button mounts. I don know if it's the difference between a Gibson and an Epiphone or the B-7 and B-70. Just want you to know it does work and is solid. Thanks to Miles Patterson and his team for their support and GREAT Service!!!
No marks, no holes, all beauty!
I used a VibraMate on my 2001 Les Paul Studio Plus Top and could not be happier with the result. The fourAAAA flame maple top was not destroyed and I had the most beautiful stage guitar around. I thoroughly recommend this product.
Vibramate V7
Perfect fit, and as advertised, no holes required, in my guitar! Exactly what I wanted, and easy to install!
Something just work
I had never heard of the Vibramate but I needed something to allow my tremolo to sit properly. I have always wanted to add a Bigsby style system to my Les Paul. I finally bought one but it didn't sit quite right. So, I googled how to install it. I came across the VIbramate. I was willing to drill into my guitar but if didn't have to, all the better. the V7 was so simple to install… read more and gave my guitar an intonation it didn't have before. It feels better to play because I think the bridge and saddle are at a better height than before. If you are into the Bigsby system and you want it to install perfectly, use the Vibramate. It will make the installation experience so much easier.
