IT MAKES YOUR GUITAR NEW AGAIN!

Adrian Alvarado

I've used these products in my 1996 LP Classic and it brought back to life the finish of the guitar, the fretboard conditioner is amazing and the 2 cloth towels WONT SCRATCH your guitar which was a big WIN for me. This product cannot be compared with Dunlop products (they're not bad but their polish is better suited for poly finishes and I use them in my Epi). You will have this read more kit for years since you only need to use a little of each product.

Great Kit For New Guitar

Alberto Munoz

I recently purchased a 2021 Les Paul Classic. To maintain it, I purchased this kit. I went with gibson brand to insure it safe on the material, especially the nitro finish. The fret board oil worked nicely. Very little was needed to apply a coat. Bottle should last me for years. It gave the rosewood a darker tone while making it a smoother feeling surface. The Finish Cream worked read more nicely. Because my guitar is black, the oils of my strumming hand are visible after a night of jamming. The cream didn't leave a residue, nor did it look cloudy. I love the Nitro finish and hope this cream keeps the guitar shining years. The clothes aren't the softest but also don't mark up the guitar when used. Its nice to have two. Overall this kit is great. I feel that its reasonably priced for the 6 piece set. I haven't used the hard ward cleaner, but will assume it will work fine.

DOES A GREAT JOB

I contacted Sean Geyer at Sweetwater for his recommendation of a product to use on my Gibson SG anniversary edition bass. The bass has a satin, chocolate finish, that this product does a great job cleaning without leaving an oily film. The kit came with metal polish and fretboard cleaner that I haven't used yet. Love the Gibson polishing clothes too. Thanks Sweetwater.

Used this kit on a '81 LP Standard that had been neglected for a while. The fretboard conditioner works great. The metal cleaner was fantastic for restoring the hardware from corrosion. Maybe I was using the restoration cream incorrectly but I used it as a cleaning polish. It left the finish really cloudy and was hard to work with. It did, however, work pretty well for cleaning read more most of the old oil grime and build-up that had hardened onto the body. Perhaps this is all this cream is supposed to do? It's nice little kit to have but maybe consider getting the pump polish or another type of cleaning polish along with it if your looking for a great shine.

Should't It Be Used

The Gibson Restoration Kit arrived in fine shape from Sweetwater. But, shouldn't it be used rather than some other third party polish or cleaner? I mean I bought a Gibson Guitar, and certainly it says right on the package - made for nitrocellulose finishes. I only saw perhaps one other one who made that claim the rest of the others saying they were made for all finishes. Well, believe read more what you want to, but I would expect even if the Gibson Product is not as good as what some other third party manufacturers claim about their own product, it is made by Gibson and may be better for a Gibson Guitar. I also see other claiming you can use this or that for polish or cleaner, well, I prefer to use a Gibson Product such as this for my Gibson Guitar. No, I am not restoring a guitar, I am keeping a guitar from having to be restored probably. And if a dealer is going to sell a Gibson Guitar, should it not also have the option to use a Gibson Product on a Gibson Guitar? Some other places don't and can not even order it. Sweetwater had it, and that makes a day for sure.
