Get the Peterson
I do not like to dis products but this display is like nailing jello to the wall. I thought I could adjust my visual acuity to what I knew would be a different mode of tuning indicator but just couldn't do it. The .02 cent accuracy got me but- 1) the human ear can't differentiate between half a cent so I am opting for the Peterson stomp tuner, and B) I aint chasen no light around… read more no diamond while the band waits to play the next tune! My Peterson is on the way and the VOX is on the way BACK. Thanks to Mike and Sweetwater I still got it quickly even it kinda was not good. I have had a lot of great VOX stuff, just not this tuner. Thanks to all the SW folks up in South Bend.
Easy on the eyes
So, I got this tuner for the giant display and it doesn't get any bigger or easier to read than this one. Just be aware that the default display is strobe which is great for setting up your intonation but I suggest clicking the display button (by the power plug) to either setting 2 or 3... then the top angle of the diamond turns blue and flashes twice when you're in tune. I feel… read more a little dumb because I was close to sending it back, I think in one review I read the guy did send it back, and all the YouTube videos are in a foreign language. The only feature that I wish it had that the poly tune has is a display of all the strings at once when you strum a chord and shows you which strings are out and which way they are out, but that might be the most difficult display of them all. This vox tuner is great, its sleek and doesn't look like a tuner which is cool, but the highlight is the giant bold display. Very happy with this tuner!!
Not my jam
I love VOX, but I'm not too happy with this pedal. I loved the look: large display, bright for dark rooms. But I'm definitely not used to the strobe functioning. Used to an old-school BOSS TU-2 that was very straightforward. I'll be sending this back to get a different one.
Great accuracy, easy to read display
I needed another tuner pedal for an additional location. I have several Korg pitchblacks and have had good luck with them. I saw that this new vox tuner had a large display so I thought I would give it a shot. I was surprised that it reacts faster and more accurately than the korgs. I haven't tried it outdoors yet so I can't say if it as visible in sunlight as the Korg, but indoors… read more it is much easier to see.
