Another Great EVH guitar!
Thanks to EVH for making these available in Lefty. Plays great. Low, fast action, great setup right out of the box, great sounding. Great looking fit and finish. Really good fret work. The loss of a point in my rating is strictly due to cosmetic flaws and I would buy more of these if there were other options available left handed. There was a perfectly straight, dark line about… read more 2" long on the edge of the headstock near the high E tuner that upon close examination turned out to be a scorch mark from a hot blade or drill bit. Hard to see from most angles. No big deal. The annoying one is that it appears someone had a rough time with the routing for the pickups. The edges are pretty rough where the PU screw tabs go in. The matte finish hides it well though and it's not really noticable until you're looking close up. It was meant to be a player for me and not a collectible so it's not something that would keep me from wanting it, but it was noticable enough to mention. The pickup selector switch was backwards too, but this is an easy fix I find this amusing. I imagine things like that being the result of a right handed builder having to deal with the left handed flip while they are working on the guitar. Despite my complaints about the cosmetic issues I think it plays, looks and sounds great and would definitely recommend it as well as buy more for myself. I am also very impressed with the lower priced WG Standard model. Get a USA model if you can afford it, they are even better, but the Special is a great guitar. Sweetwater is the best place to buy a guitar if you have to do it online.
