LM X-Clef brown strap

I have an old 70's P bass, one of my favorite instruments but man is it heavy. I was looking for a unique all leather strap to help me while playing the old P bass. I wanted something better looking than the standard non padded strap. I saw the LM x-clef and thought, now this looks like real craftsmanship. I couldn't be happier. I like it but it needs a break-in period

There's nothing like a real leather strap for the feel and the smell, like a new pair of good shoes. I'm a guitarist who much prefers wider straps but the choices are almost exclusively limited to bass straps. I saw this at Gear Fest and thought the price was shockingly low for for a handmade, all leather strap. This is a strap that will last a lifetime and it's very comfy where… read more the strap rests on my shoulder. But like a new pair of leather shoes it's awfully stiff and difficult to get the strap onto the strap knobs even after opening the slots a tiny bit with a sharp pocket knife. But that will improve in time as the leather stretches and softens. There's a tradeoff with the design that threads the narrow section of the strap through a brass ring at the end of the padded section. The good part is that it makes it easy to quickly adjust the length of the strap to taste. To downside is the leather is so stiff now that the loop digs into my back and that's kind of annoying. I think that, too, will improve with age but it's a little annoying now.
