Best String Cleaner
The D'Addario XLR8 String Lubricant/Cleaner is the best cleaner I've used and after 52 years of playing guitar, I've tried them all. The strings get a nice thorough cleaning and lubrication with each application. The coating remains on the string until your next use of that guitar. It helps hold down corrosion and extends the useful life of the string. This was the main reason I… read more switched to the D'Addario XLR8 String Lubricant/Cleaner. I own 17 guitars but have about 5 main axes I use on a daily basis. Being able to keep some lively strings on all of them is a chore but the cleaner helps out tremendously. I wholeheartedly endorse the D'Addario XLR8 String Lubricant/Cleaner and recommend it to anyone who is interested in a product that will not only clean your strings but help to extend their useful life.
Nice to keep handy!
I don't use XLR8 that often, but it really does a good job of reducing finger noise and friction for recording. Great for making a great, clean-sounding performance easier to attain.
Good stuff
I like this stuff. I use it to clean my strings after playing and it definitely helps extend string life. I practice daily and wanted to try and get a little more life out of my strings. This stuff does the trick. I have applied it before practicing a few times. It does minimize the sound made when sliding to a degree which is nice. I don't really need it for that though. Use it every day
works great to help with slides and to clean dirty strings. Yeah it doesn't last long but a can will last a couple weeks of heavy playing and it pays for itself by saving strings. I love this stuff.
Work's just fine but...
This product works just fine. I normally keep a tin of XLR8 in my case at all times to wipe down my strings after each session. Just wish it would last a little longer.
