HOLY MOLY!!!
The hype is very real. The Zbest is simply the best. I'm using it with a Maz 18, also from Sweetwater. This is the kind of sound I've been drooling for a long time, and this cab may be dead heavy, but it just sounds remarkable. It's very balanced sounding, too. The H30 and V30 are a good pair, and the sonic possibilities are just endless. I wanna thank my Sweetwater rep. Christopher… read more Flinton for the extra care. Peeps, this is THE cab.
Just what I was looking for!
In the shoot-out, this Dr. Z Z Best 2x12" cab sounded exactly like what I was looking for, and the port design, plus the poplar wood making it significantly lighter at 45 lbs, made it hard to pass up. It doesn't have the angled design I prefer, and it doesn't match my Friedman in name, but after using it for 3 gigs, I can say it's great and exactly what I was looking for! It has… read more Great punch, a full, clear sound for both crunch and clean, and it seems to project well! I too wish it had side handles, but because it's made to sit vertically AND horizontally, that would have been problematic, and probably wouldn't have allowed the ported design. Both speakers are great mic'ed individually, and together they work very seamlessly and just sound great with the Friedman WW-20 for the rock and some pop that we play in the bands I am in. I special ordered it with the black/sp tolex and grill cloth, and it looks good with the WW-20 head as well. As usual, my sales engineer Mark Thompson made it happen easily, and it came in half the time that was estimated, so I was even happier to be able to use it on the recent gigs!
Z Best Cab
This cab is expensive, but in line with Mesa, Friedman, UK Made Marshall's ect. As expected at this price point build quality is excellent, tolex is high quality, feet and handle are quality ect. The only gripe is that it has an external handle and not the dual carry handles like a Mesa. Where this cab excels is the sound and the design. It really is a better cab than the competition.… read more Good speaker choice, but the main thing is the ports are really well designed. Horizontal it punches bass like a closed back 4x12, vertical it's like the best of closed and open back worlds. It's versatile, sounds great, good speakers, good build, it's worth the dough.
Double your pleasure, double your fun.
A Marshall 1960bv & Z-best sound great together and have been in my live rig for years. Lately I've been wanting to minimize the footprint, since stages are small, without sacrificing the overall mojo. Both my SRZ-65 and Z Wreck sound great through the older Z-Best so I figured a second Z-Best was the best option for what I wanted to achieve. Since the Dr has yet to disappoint… read more me, I pulled the trigger. Well, mission accomplished! SRZ through the new cab and Z Wreck through the older stacked in horizontal sounds huge and killer, I'm stoked. Now I just need to figure out how to rotate the Z logos on the cabs without damaging anything.
