we put these on some older acoustics we have they seem to put less strain on them,they sound real good,play very easy and last.We have not had any issues with breakage and they really are an upgrade over conventional 80-20 strings that go bad in a hurry on us,a noticeable improvement right away.the phosphor bronze sounded a little brighter(to us with mahogany) i highly recomend… read more these elixir 80-20

Elixir strings are the best .Period. My Martin is a great guitar even greater with Elixir strings.

I bought some Elixer strings to put on my acoustic/electric guitar for my outdoor shows in Islamorada... Lots of humidity in the Florida Keys, so I use the nanoweb... 3 packs last me about 9 weeks or so... I play full step down, DADGAD, drop D(C), open E and the Elixers handle the multiple tunings really well...

My hands sweat profusely and I'll kill a set a standard phosphor bronze strings in an hour. The Elixir's last for months if cleaned after each set. I've tried the Martin Lifespan's and the sound is too tinty. The Elixir's have a nice even tone which compliments my Martin perfectly.I use the extra lights because I like a good clean sound, low action, just before fret buzz.
