80/20's are underrated
I have a spruce top mahogany back and sides. Phosphor bronze just doesn't have the voice and articulation and energy that these have. Very high quality strings.
This is the strings for 2012 up Martin d-18 standards
Have a 2015 d18 standard and have tried just about every string out their. Needless to say the search is over. For this guitar it has all the best aspects now . More clarity. Rich warm woody sound with just the right amount of brightness . Give them a try
Elixir!
Elixir strings are the best .Period. My Martin is a great guitar even greater with Elixir strings.
The Only Strings I Use
Elixir strings are now the only strings I will use for both Acoustic and Electric. I use many alternate tuning on my guitars and they always stay in tune and don't break. Before Elixir my high "E" string would always break. So I purchased a pack of 10 "E" strings. Now I have a pack of these strings just laying around. Elixir are worth the extra cost. I really wasn't "Blown… read more Away" with the Elixir strings because this is what I expected, so it was not a big surprise.
LOVING THE NANOWEBS!
I've tried coated strings in the past without much success. They often felt weird, or sounded too heavy or dull. The Nanowebs are a whole other story!
