Just got these dialed in on my Regal lap steel (actually a round neck with a nut extension - i will be putting on a bone full height nut next week). Yes, it's a newer Regal but after some mods it's low end really opened up. Anyway these Elixirs provide a solid, sweet tone both loud and subtle. Good harmonics, little noise, and nice pitch. Since my first pack of Elixir not long after they were invented I've used no other. For years I had to change out other brands after just four hours of use (one gig) due to I guess me having high acidity that simply crusted over the strings with corrosion. Not Elixir. They also can be cleaned up a bit after months of use and return the ring. I've tried other brands of coated… read more strings but they just don't seem to have the sound and lasting power of Elixirs.
