Great Strings
Got them a while back to try out and they are now my "go to" for acoustic strings.
Full Circle
I used to use these when i first started playing guitar almost 20 years ago. Recently started coming back to these and feel at home again. They last a while, sound great and are cheap (price not quality). I haven't broken an Ernie Ball string yet so I can say they do hold up to retuning and detuning.
Love the Earthwood
While shopping for these Earthwood medium lights, I was shocked to see that 1-star review, someone posted. I felt compelled to offer my 2 cents. I love these strings on my vintage Sigma acoustic. In fact, after trying out other strings, this is the only string I have used since as long as I can remember now for my guitar. Love em. Bright and crisp! That being said, all of… read more our gear is different, different environments, playing style, etc, so what works for one, might not work for another. I was just feeling bad for my dear Earthwood Medium Lights that I enjoy so much. Just gotta give em a try I guess.
I Won't Play Guitar with any other string.
Before purchasing a new accoustic guitar recently I was primarily a lead guitarist. But when I recently played a Yamaha A3R I decided to pull the trigger on one. I bought these strings mainly because I chose Rosewood back and sides instead of Mahogany. I like Mahogany's warm tone, and strong projection. My Yammy has strong lows, punchy mids and crisp highs. But I knew I would… read more be sacrificing some warmth, projection and volume without a Mahog back and sides guitar. Then I saw the Earthwood 80/20. They claimed they were warm, bright and bring out intonation. When I played them, I was blown away. The earthwood's create warm and volume that is unparalleled. To my ears Aluminum Bronze are too bright and lack the warmth, and big lows that I want on my dreadnought. But Earthwood 80/20 deliver big lows, tons of warmth, and still allow shimmery highs without too much treble. Their my go to strings now. Brian
EB's 80/20's Acoustic
Long time fan of Super Slinkys. Tried a set of Earthwood 80/20 Medium Lights on my Hummingbird. Flat, no sparkle, and lacking in volume across the full range. But that's just on my bird. They might work for you.
