Amazing tone
I'm a elixir nanoweb guy but decided to try something different. While they do not have the slick grease feel I love about elixir nanowebs, the tone is amazing. I put them on my prs and will be trying them on my other guitars. The string break thing I can't attest to because I almost never break strings (I play mostly lead metal and punk.$
No Breaks and Long Lasting
I use a pretty thick pick (1.14) and I play pretty aggressively, so I tend to break strings every once in a while. With the old eb strings, they corrode after about 2 or 3 weeks of playing every day for several hours a day. Other than the fact that after strings corrode they lose tone and are uncomfortable to play, they also break easier as the grime builds up. With the paradigms,… read more I get at least twice the life out of my strings and I have never once broken a string while using them. On top of that I think they just sound better than the original eb strings. Definitely worth the extra money!
DON'T EVEN BOTHER, they should be called break easier!
Bought these thinking they would end my troubles of bridge snaps that usually happen after about a month or two of regular playing (weekly band practice and very little at home) Got a new guitar from Sweetwater (which I love) And had them put these strings on before shipping and after playing strings for 2 practices the E A D G all snapped one after another after another just… read more before a show. I thought maybe because they were shipped with guitar something happened so I put on a new set I had already purchased and after just ONE 2 hour practice I pick up my guitar and SNAP goes the A string! This is so incredibly frustrating and the return/warranty process to get honored is a waste of time. You should be able to walk into any certified dealer and exchange just the broke string. I had better luck with bottom barrel cheap strings. These string break even faster then the cheapest rustiest strings I've ever played. The search continues for a decent string.
Much gooder...
Like most guitarists I'm terribly picky about my strings. That being said, at the time I bought these I needed some extra sets while waiting on my preferred brand/guage to arrive via mail and these were readily available at my local guitar shop. I've also been swapping pickups left and right after throwing a new neck on my guitar and needed something that wouldn't break after… read more rewinding once. Overall, I'm super impressed with the Paradigms. They sound much better than standard EB's do (in my setup to my ears) and are impressively durable. They don't stand up, tone/feel-wise, to my preferred brand (and they're a few bucks more expensive) but they are great strings and I wouldn't hesitate to buy them again in a time of need.
