Really Amazing and great sounding strings
I bought several sets of these for most of my 6 & 7str guitars; they feel great and sound great when you first put them on. Honestly I've had about a year of playing and 100 hours/month on average in the studio is not uncommon for me. But the longer I use them, and clean them with finger-ease often, they seem to start losing some intonation. octave harmonic is off a few cents.… read more One thing I'd like to say about some of the comments made here. Many were saying they were so bad, or they broke. Then they would go thru the truss bar settings, raising and lower bridge saddles, etc. I found, IMHO, that as soon as you start messing with the truss rod, and you don't know 100% what you're doing, that's a danger zone, and I would be careful. When you get a more cut-rate priced guitar, you always stand the risk of getting one that is a tiny bit warped in places, you have to adjust as best as you can, and save up for that real Majesty or Jem, right? the cut-rate ones are still mostly well done, but require fine-tuning on things. Best luck; I only use these strings anymore. Really grown to like what Ernie Ball has done over the decades, they were there early and Sterling's family has kept the quality exquisite.
My #1!
These strings are incredible sounding. They stay clean, sounding fresh, and can handle every bit of abuse I deliver mercilessly every single day... including all forms of tour abuse from the road (extreme weather/temp/climate changes, etc.). I previously used GHS Boomers/D'Addario XLs (10-46) and still occasionally use S.I.T Universal balanced tension (10.5 - 48). The only thing… read more I've ever seen break or mess up one of these strings are worn down/neglected equipment and/or friction points (nut, saddles, tuners, etc. which get sharp during wear and will ruin anything that touches it) which is expected... the only other instance was a guitar that got ripped apart and thrown out into the audience- strings were removed from the guitar by force, but were perfectly intact still
Definitely the best choice of strings
About 5 or 6 months ago I had bought two packs of these strings after hearing about their reliability and durability, plus I was tired of the strings I had. Upon changing them, they sounded absolutely amazing. Even putting them on a cheaper guitar makes it sound a lot better. I didn't have any breaks even after tuning it to F standard which surprised me. And this was after a couple… read more of months of having the strings on my guitar.
Sure, durability, but also awesome
I keep coming back to these. I know the pitch is durability, but they're also just *really great* strings in general. "String feel" is wonderful, and they can handle wildly varying styles with ease.
Most durable strings I've used so far
These strings are the best and most durable I've played with so far. I had them for 3 months and they did not break until I had to break them myself to fix my pickups and even then I had trouble getting them off because of the great build quality. If you somehow manage to break these strings just by playing normally I applaud you.
