Unbreakable? Would be big, if true!
I was pretty impressed by the paradigm strings when I was first looking for a longer lasting replacement to nyxl's. It sounded like a pack of fresh slinky's long after they had been first put on the guitar. No more, no less. But for some that might be enough. However, I found the assertion that they are unbreakable to be sadly untrue. After one broke on me at a gig, I went back… read more to D'addario NYXL's. Normally I would be more forgiving, but they broke on the way to the gig! I had rig all plugged in ready to go, and the string was broken right there in the case. I haven't revisited these strings since.
My string broke
I bought my set on 12/07/19. Today is 02/07/20. The high E (.009) broke on my last song today of a one hour gig. Disappointed but not surprised.
Not as horrible as some say
I have used these before in various guitars, that I ended up selling for bill money but I got a set on my prs singlecut they aren’t the cobalts I love but they’re not bad. I usually play for anywhere between 25 minuets to an hour a day just practicing it’s all I usually get as far as time and sometimes I bend like I think I’m slash! I know another thing that helps tuning… read more is a good set up for bending so with that taken into account they hold up! I haven’t knocked them out of tune at all, which is surprising but I’m not currently in any bands, again taking into account I’m not sweating as much I don’t wipe them down or clean my board for a while no corrosion no rust no bs. They don’t sound bad at all, what your paying for is a non breaking string which can be subjective depending on how you play of corse, but they aren’t meh or just ..... no! Try them out! Do for yourself!
Extra durable? Meh...
I like the idea of a string that will take some abuse, and I'm willing to pay extra, so I decided to give the Paradigms a try. Literally 2 weeks past the 90-day warranty the high E string snapped while tuning up to standard from a lower tune. This is on a guitar that does not get played a lot, and the strings are always wiped down after playing. Meh. Maybe I got a bad set, but… read more I'm surely not impressed by a string that is supposed to be more durable and didn't last half as long as my last set of Cobalts, which were half the price...
Not sure yet
I usually use Ernie Ball strings, so I figured on good sound and feel. The main selling point of Paradigms is long life and neat indistructability. Too soon to say, but so far so good!
