Solid strings
I was fortunate enough to have been sent a set for free direct from Ernie ball during their beta promotion when they first started making these. I got these around March of this year (2017) and am just getting around to having to restring again now (October 2017). To be honest the only reason I'm restringing is to get a setup due to the seasonal temperature changes shifting intonation… read more around. Anyway, back to the strings. I've used several different types of strings over the past 15 years, starting with the regular and power slinky's, switched over to d'addario, DR and back to Ernie ball when they released the cobalts. I think all have been great strings, each with their pros and cons and I feel as though these paradigms are well worth the price. They have fantastic clarity and tone. They are bright but not so much as the cobalts were and they feel great on the fingers. I haven't noticed an issue with rust in the slightest even through playing all summer with sweaty hands. I'd still suggest cleaning with a microfiber cloth/string cleaner every or every other time playing because, why not? They still feel great even after over a half year of playing (almost every single day). I'll happily be buying another set and would suggest to anyone looking for something new to give these a try.
