Love these boys
they feel great, they can take a beating, and (most importantly) i love the sound. it definitely took some getting used to, coming from classic nickel-wounds, but now they're my go to strings
Longtime Slinky user but these aren't really my thing
I mean, they're strings... so that's a good start. I've used standard nickel-wound Slinkys of most gauges since 1990; mostly Power and Regular Slinkys throughout that timespan. But after experimenting with three different packs, these stainless steel ones just seem rather lifeless after a few hours of breaking them in. They're a darker tint than the nickels and definitely have a… read more softer, more comfortable feel on the fingertips. Which for some people may be fantastic, but I personally prefer a little grit to battle with. The overall result seems fairly dull in both feel and tonal brightness though. While it's certainly a rather exaggerated statement (but the best I can compare to at the moment), it's almost as if I'm playing with flatwounds. Still looking forward to finally checking out the M-Steels, Paradigms and Cobalts, but definitely sticking with the tried and true nickel-wound Slinkys. These stainless ones just don't have the right feel and punch I need.
