I have been using standard Nickle plated strings for years. I may or may not have a nickle alergay. So I thought I would try these. I will try Cobalt sometime in the future when im done with these (I forgot about cobalt). Anyways, when I put them on they seemed "weird" and sounded "wierd " to me also. But after breaking them in they are kinda cool. Just a different tone than the… read more nickle. The description says these are bright, but to me nickle is brighter (maybe im wrong). Anyways I kind of like them and they grow on ya. I do have to experiement with my picks to find which Ones I like best with these strings. I bought 10s for my Les paul, and one string was a little on the short end and only made it arround the post once, that was disappointing.

Disappointing set of strings from Ernie Ball

I've used Ernie Ball strings for years since I started playing 14 years ago and I've used their regular slinky for the most part. I was hoping this new release would give me an improvement but they went in the wrong direction. The 3 wound strings are extremely sticky and rough feeling. Strings need to be slick so you can slide around the guitar but these are the opposite you just… read more get stuck and sliding around using these is a guitar players nightmare. The 3 plain steel strings are exactly the same as slinky regulars. Sorry but have to be honest here. Stay away from these strings.
