Yup!!!!
Yup...Ernie Ball has been my string of choice for over 20 years now. When I buy a guitar, first thing I do is put EB strings on it. Can't go wrong!!!! I will continue to use them as long as I can play. Warm bottom tone, and bright enough leads cut through the mix.
Most expressive strings made for electrics.
I switched to these strings about a year ago after having surgery on my left arm. I had to relearn to play and my previous brand and gauge were too stiff and thick for the task at hand. I first tried the regular super slinky's but my hand strength was too much to use them correctly. So I jumped up to these thinking they were the regular Slinky's. I really dug the tone of these… read more as they were warmer but retained the bite. Also these last longer than regular Slinky line. Not sure how as pure nickel strings usually have gone dead for me fast. But these seems to adjust to your playing and are soft when needed bite when needed and just sing. Glad I found these as still my previous brand and gauge I cannot play due to the surgery. Doesn't matter as these have taken their place.
Pure nickel makes a difference
I've always been a fan of pure nickel wrap strings. The difference in tone may be subtle, but it is for real. These classic strings tune to pitch easily and hold tune as well as anything else. They also deliver the classic warm tones that pure nickel wrap is famous for. It takes the edge off, like rolling back the tone knob just a little. I run the .010-.046 set on my Les Paul.… read more They deliver enough slinky without being mush and the tone is amazing. My only wish is that there were more variety of sets. Maybe a heavy bottom set?
Brand Loyalty
I've used these strings for all my electrics for atleast 10 years now. There's really no comparison for me as I've tried other brands and I always go back to these. I find that they fully capture the sounds of my Fenders, Gretschs, and Gibsons. They're amazing; feel great, hold tune, they have a very good life span, and I've never popped one during a show. They're classic and they… read more have earned that legacy!
Surprised
My electric guitars have been a Gibson SG Standard and a Les Paul DC. Always used Brite Wires with Humbuckers. Have cheaper electric with Humbuckers, went to change strings, local music store didn't have Brite Wires. Decided to try Regular Slinky's. Tuned to pitch easily. Surprised at feel and sound of these strings. Also price was low. Keeping regular Slinky's on this guitar.… read more Who knows, maybe a convert. I was pleasantly surprised, no shocked at the quality of these strings. Playing guitar for 50 years. So I am picky. Any doubts about these strings, try them. You will no longer be a doubter.
