I LOVE BLUE STEEL STRINGS
I first bought these strings because they were low cost but I buy them now because I love the tone they produce on an Ibanez guitar. They ring better and sound great when bending them. The only complaint is that they occasionally get surface rust if I don't wipe them off after playing. This problem could be unique to me as I believe my hands tend to be more acidic than out people… read more and I think this is why I have this issue. That and the fact that I don't play all the often but like I said, if I wipe the strings off after playing I don't have any issue with them at all. They stay in tune and work great with locking tuners and a Floyd Rose Tremolo. Give them a try and I think you'll like them.
I use nothing else
I've used these since they first came out and haven't used anything else on my electric guitars.
They LAST!
I am amazed at how much life I get from these strings. I play 12-15 shows a month and used to have to change my strings every 5 or 6 shows. Blue Steel dont rust, don't lose their tone from the 1st to the 15th show. The only reason I changed the first set I had was because I thought I HAD to. Maybe my ears are going dead, they cant have lasted this long......I am at the point now… read more where I will change them when one breaks. And after 25+ shows they are still going....
I've tried them all and these are my favorite strings
I've been playing guitar since 1963. I can't even remember all the different brands of strings I've used but I do know the ones that work best for me. Blue Steel's always sound great and last longer than most.
My favorite strings for my electrics
Your many years I played Slinkys (9s and 10s) on my Strat and I thought they sounded just fine, but I found they didn't sound very good on my new PRS Custom 24. So I decided to use Blue Steeles on both my Strat and PRS. The increase in sound quality was immense! I didn't think they'd make this much of a difference, but they indeed do. The strings produced a brighter tone with… read more beautiful harmonics that I've not had before. Your mileage may vary, but for me I will use nothing else on my electrics. String life is also very long--I've done plenty of heavy bends and hard picking and they are holding up perfectly over many hours of use. Happy plucking!
