Hilariously loud strings

After ages of having dark, muddy tones with cheap gear, I figured i'd give these Cobalt strings a try when I bought a new 7 string Schecter. When I got the guitar, I asked for these to be put on in the setup. Thanks to these strings, my 7 string is MUCH louder than my semi-hollow body guitar when played unplugged. When plugged in, the strings provide a clear, bright tone. I've had read more the strings on my guitar since I bought it in April, and I genuinely don't hear a reason to change them as they're still bright and punchy and the tuning stability with a good setup has been rock solid. If you hate changing strings and want to beef up weak pickups, these strings are the right choice. If you have active or otherwise high output pickups, these might be overkill loud, and I'd probably recommend the normal or Paradigm Ernie Ball lines of strings in the same gauge.

Excellent tone

Excellent tone. My scale length is about 25.5 and I was advised to get at least a 62 for the lowest string. These work perfect. I'm taking a star way though because they're so freakin pricey.

This my first ever 7 string set purchase. I recently added a used Washburn PX Solar 170 to my rig. Put these strings on a month ago and they still sound great. Set mine up with the bottom string tuned down to A and the 62 is perfect. As for the other 6 strings...they live up to the Ernie Ball name. They play, feel and sound awesome. Overall, very good quality IMO. Also thanks to read more Nick Grawcock for taking care of this order for me. Received them in like 3 days.

A different idea...

Good: Smooth and clear, great tuning stability and a very controlled feel. Bad: A bit scooped in the mids, wish that low string had a bit of the core sticking out to grab onto when putting it on (the tuners I use have a hole that is JUST big enough for a 0.062 and my normally preferred strings have some of the core sticking out for this specific purpose). I'm not thrilled that read more the plain strings are the exact same as on standard slinky's (if I'm paying extra for the fancy material on the wound strings, why skimp out on the others). Overall: A fantastic idea that's just a bit expensive.

Hands down the Best!

Sound, feel, tuning stability, response... Everything about the Cobalt's are awesome. The ONLY strings I use.
