Bass IV
They don't work, don't buy these for a Bass IV, the 13 is too short.
Fun for B standard and lower
To the guy who gave a 1 star review on the base of personal preference, what you doin man??? I use them on my Ibanez RGBI6 tyippcily B standard or A standard. Controlling the lower strings so there's auctuly dissonance can be a learning curve, but after that you can slam on these and have fun
Excellent electric high gauge strings
I tune my regular acoustic/electric to CFCFCF, and these strings have the best response and brightness for their size. Other strings this gauge in my setup sound much darker.
Not for PRS SE 277
As always, Sweetwater's service is great. My issue is with Ernie ball on these strings. I don't like to go lower than D standard. I managed that on the 277 with Ernie's 11s, but they were too light for my liking on a 27.7". I believe the strings that came with the guitar were 14s with a 68 on the low end. Those were for B standard or drop A tuning. These strings can achieve drop… read more A, but the tension is way too tight for my liking. I should also state that the 277 won't fit the 72, unless you cut the string to desired length and unwrap the coil wire till the core will fit. I don't recommend this, but I had no choice with this set. Ernie Ball should reconsider a similar to the 11s, but with a low end lighter than 68. Maybe 12s would be a more suitable set. These just aren't my cup of tea.
RUMBLE!
great set of strings.tuned to A these babies are tight and hold their tune with very minimal stretching right out of the package.I put these on a baritone tele and they RRRROOOCK! the .072 ain't too big for ya,try 'em.they also have a wound g {cool} on my 27" scale guitar the tension feels close to a set of .010's at normal pitch to me.they do feel fat but the payoff is big.
