I have been using Ernie Ball Skinny Top Heavy Bottom strings for a few years. I play mostly hard rock tuned to E standard and down a half step. These strings work well for me because there is enough string tension to aggressively play power chords without momentarily going sharp and the high strings are "slinky" enough to bend full steps with ease. Heavy bottom tones for solid bass lines and durable 10 gage skinny top attacks. I have used Ernie Ball since "75" and recommend you only consider his strings and his custom sizes.
