I purchased one of this model case a few years ago for my first Strat. That case had 4 latches on one side. ISeries is Awesome

I fly frequently, and when they are short domestic flights, I always have 2 options with my guitar: 1. Bring my guitar in a softshell and hope it fits in an overhead (so they don"t put it under the plane for the flight) 2. Bring my guitar in heavy road case and check it (A hardhell doesn"t fit it most overheads, and often, they don"t have room to keep them on the plane, but a softshell… read more has a chance, but if you have to check it at the gate because the plane is small, it doesn"t have much protection during the flight) While I would rather check it when I arrive for my flight (so I don"t have to stress about whether my guitar gets on the plane or not), the heavy road cases are tough to carry through my trip with all my other luggage. On my flight to GearFest 2018 at Sweetwater, I sat next to someone from Line6, and he was telling me about the iSeries Cases from SKB, and how his team uses them everywhere they fly (it also has wheels, by the way), so I purchased one from Evan Nieman while at GearFest. Awesome! Best purchase I have made in a long time! Right around 20 pounds, sturdy, tight fit for my guitar, and wheels, this is perfect.

Worth Every Penny

I have the SKB i-Series 3i-3614-6B-L (39"x17"x7") case to use for my 1960 Fender Stringmaster doubleneck steel guitar. I bought it for a trip to Mexico City to play a concert. Frankly, I was more worried about it just making it to the destination far more than I was from any damage to the steel from being battered around by careless baggage handlers! These cases are incredible.… read more While bulkier than I'd use on local gigs (use a gig bag for most local stuff), for any serious road touring, and ESPECIALLY flying, these are worth every penny of investment to protect the tools of your trade. They are Military Spec, waterproof and built to last. I've since used mine to fly many more times, and the only damage I ever had was when the Totally Stuporous Airheads opened it up, took OUT the guitar (for whatever reason, I have no idea), and must have dropped it, bending my 3-way switch to one side. Fortunately, I bent it back straight, and it sill worked! Are you flying? Gonna CHECK your guitar? BUY ONE OF THESE CASES.

The guitar fits like glove in the case, the transaction was trouble free. Now, comes the true test, let’s see how long it takes before airline destroy the case.
